Hanamaruken Ramen, The grove

Im not such a fan of Ramen but Miguel is and his family really love eating Ramen. I heard about Hanamaruken ramen on a local Japanese magazine here in Manila. It was rated as one of the best Ramen restaurants here in Manila and we decided to give it a go.

What we had, Spicy Ramen and the Salary man Ramen. I wanted to have a try of something that was not on their best seller list and the idea of a Salary man ramen sounded different and interesting.

Salary Man ramen

Price Ranges from about 200-400 pesos. I wanted to try their gyoza side dish but they were out of it. I would come back here if I were a fan of Ramen, which I am not. But as compared to many of the different Ramen dishes that I have tasted this is probably one of the more generous of servings for about the same value as Ramen Nagi.

Compared to other ramen joints like Ramen Nagi, Hanamaruken’s simplicity enables one to have a full and immersive experience. Without the complexity of having to choose noodle hardness, spice levels, etc., one may be able to appreciate ramen as it was truly meant to be served.

Sunrise Buckets, Rockwell Grove

10456007_10204042482293279_539030985644289931_n   Sunrise buckets has been one of my favorite places to eat since my friends and I first discovered it 3 years ago in its branch in Madison square Greenhills. My friends and I used to come here all the time and down 2 and a half pounds of chicken together. The vanilla float is also something that we loved having here and also the Vanilla milkshake is one you should try.

I love eating here most especially because their chicken is really good and they always come up with new and exciting flavors to try. So I brought my boyfriend here last wednesday. Its “wing wednesday” every wednesday and you get the half pound free for every two and a half pounds of chicken you get. We finished 24 chickens, 12 of the original and 12 of the black pepper together and a side of bacon and cheese fries

Black Peppered

Price range here is not that bad either. It depends on the flavor you are getting, because you can mix two flavors for the 2 and a half pounds. They differ in price range per set. Ours was Php 675 for 2 and a half pounds of chicken. I would recommend that you come here with an empty stomach especially if you are planning to eat a lot of chickens. They also have a menu of different kinds of burgers of which I have yet to try. But I just can’t get enough of their deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked chickens. If you are extra hungry the most you can order is 5 pounds of chicken and you can mix about 4 different flavors. Maybe if you are a group of friends you can down 40-48 chickens together.

SUNRISE BUCKETS

Price Range: We spend about 900 pesos for the 2 and a a half pounds of chicken and the fries. Also because it was wing Wednesday so we got the half pound free. I would suggest to bring about Php 500 per person.

Recommendations: Chicken Flavors (Sunrise Original, Black pepper, Jack Daniels, Ultimate Crazy Hot, Honey Mustard) Their sauces are also good for the chicken if you are to eat it with rice.

Two branches. One in Rockwell grove and one in Madison Square greenhills. They also deliver!
