Brasserie CiCou, Annapolis San Juan

Its really hard to come by good authentic French restaurants in Manila and this is one place you could try if you are a fan of good and healthy French food. I absolutely loved their menu and the ambiance of their restaurant. You can call me biased because this restaurant is ran by my friends family. (HAHA)

Kouign Amann S’Mores Php 220 MY FAVORITE DESSERT!

Egg Meurette

Le Boeuf Bourguignon, The beef was so soft it really did melt in my mouth

Cheese Ravioli

Eggs Benedict

If my opinion will help, although I have not been to France, I really do trust my friends family’s taste in food. Her father being French and all, and I do see a lot of people coming to eat here. I love that there are a lot of vegetables on their menu and if you love the feel good kind of simple restaurants then this is definitely a place you could try to come to together with your Friends and Family.  The ambiance of the restaurant is very homey and welcoming. Something you might want to experience.

Budget per person is about Php 1000 pesos if you also would like to try dessert. But believe me when I say I definitely got my moneys worth for everything I tried today.

Angels Kitchen, Greenhills San Juan City

My high school barkada and I tried this place out together last Saturday. It is located right beside Lugang along Connecticut st. In Greenhills. We put in a reservation but since it was a Saturday there were not much people around. However I heard that if you come here on a Sunday it gets pretty packed. Mostly Chinese people come here as it is located in Greenhills where most of the Chinese community live.

Binagoongan Baboy (Php 408)

Longganiza Bolognese (Php 378)

Rustic Apple Pie (Php 238)

Tuyo Puttanesca (Php 358)

Lemony Shrimps (Php 398)

Their servings are actually pretty big  so you can actually share a plate of pasta and maybe also another plate of starters. My friend tried their Garlicky, Egless Caesars Salad and the Kani corn soup. They also serve free bread and liver spread before the mean and another spinach spread. The Tuyo Puttanesca a bit salty but still good and the Longganiza Bolognese to be really tasty and spicy. The lemony shrimp was good and not as oily as I expected it to be. The Binagoongan Baboys meat was really soft which made it good.

I wish that I had brought a better camera to take pictures of my food. I will try to make up for these pictures the next time a return to Angels Kitchen! Their Apple pie was also good and not as filling as apple pie usually is since there was more apple than Pie crust in their pie.

They have a small store here where they sell their liver spreads and salad dressings. I suggest that you also check this out when you come here.

Blu Frog, Greenhills Promenade

I went to try Blu Frog last week together with my friend before her birthday. What attracted us as we were walking by the restaurants was the sign on their menu that said “PASTA ALL YOU WANT” Believe it or not but for only a price of Php 299 they will offer you all the pasta you want to eat, and on top of that you get to choose what to put on your pasta and what kind of pasta you will be making! All you will do is wait for them to cook your pasta and then you can create your next pasta before even getting your first order and you can order again and again and again after. AS MUCH AS YOU WANT.

Then you can pick from either white sauce, red sauce, pesto and olive oil. You can also choose to mix all the sauces. Then you can pick from different vegetables such as olives, greens, pepper and etc. The choices that you have for the main ingredient are fish, chicken, shrimp and other common things.

My friend and I consumed a total of 6 plates of pasta. So thats 3 dishes a person. It was worth it, well for the the price of only Php 299 pesos who wouldn’t be satisfied to have had 3 plates of pasta right? Flavors aren’t anything special but if you’re looking for somewhere cheap to try and you’re really hungry. This is where you must go.

If you’re only getting pasta then you’d only spend Php 299 but I’ve heard that its more of a drinking place here so maybe if you plan to drink alcohol then you’ll have to bring about 600 a person just in case.

Sunrise Buckets, Rockwell Grove

10456007_10204042482293279_539030985644289931_n   Sunrise buckets has been one of my favorite places to eat since my friends and I first discovered it 3 years ago in its branch in Madison square Greenhills. My friends and I used to come here all the time and down 2 and a half pounds of chicken together. The vanilla float is also something that we loved having here and also the Vanilla milkshake is one you should try.

I love eating here most especially because their chicken is really good and they always come up with new and exciting flavors to try. So I brought my boyfriend here last wednesday. Its “wing wednesday” every wednesday and you get the half pound free for every two and a half pounds of chicken you get. We finished 24 chickens, 12 of the original and 12 of the black pepper together and a side of bacon and cheese fries

Bacon n' Cheese Fries (Php 265)

Bacon n’ Cheese Fries (Php 265)

Sunrise Original

Black Peppered

Price range here is not that bad either. It depends on the flavor you are getting, because you can mix two flavors for the 2 and a half pounds. They differ in price range per set. Ours was Php 675 for 2 and a half pounds of chicken. I would recommend that you come here with an empty stomach especially if you are planning to eat a lot of chickens. They also have a menu of different kinds of burgers of which I have yet to try. But I just can’t get enough of their deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked chickens. If you are extra hungry the most you can order is 5 pounds of chicken and you can mix about 4 different flavors. Maybe if you are a group of friends you can down 40-48 chickens together.

Price Range: We spend about 900 pesos for the 2 and a a half pounds of chicken and the fries. Also because it was wing Wednesday so we got the half pound free. I would suggest to bring about Php 500 per person.

Recommendations: Chicken Flavors (Sunrise Original, Black pepper, Jack Daniels, Ultimate Crazy Hot, Honey Mustard) Their sauces are also good for the chicken if you are to eat it with rice.

Two branches. One in Rockwell grove and one in Madison Square greenhills. They also deliver!
