Cookbook Kitchen, Eastwood Mall

I have eaten here a few times already with my friend and today I brought my brother here to try their food. My only concern with this restaurant is the fact that you come out smelling like the kitchen and their service is a bit slow. All three times that I went here I came out of the place smelling like the kitchen.

The food though I will not complain is very good here. My favorite here is definitely the Ilocos Pasta and the Parmesan Crusted White fish! It is something that is always baked to perfection and tastes amazing. Not too much oil is tasted when you eat here, and that is one thing I love about restaurants. This is a place that you would like to try with your family and friends.

NOTE: Get ready to smell like the kitchen, the food though is VERY good here.

Chicken and Beer, Eastwood Walk

SONY DSCMosquitoes. Mosquitoes. Mosquitoes. This is all I can say. I’ve eaten here before but in the BGC branch. However this was one of the worst mosquito infested places I have ever known. Not only did they have mosquitoes under the tables but they had mosquitoes on their windows and all over their walls as well. We were also wondering why they kept the door open and the air con wasn’t even strong. I don’t recommend going here at all. Not unless you want to catch dengue or something.

The food also took a while to make. We expected it to be as good as the first time that we had eaten here however we were left disappointed. The sauce for the chicken tasted like a sweet ketchup flavored sauce and the gravy for the burger wasn’t bad except for the taste of the flour I could kind of taste a lot from it. I would not recommend going here to this branch of Chicken and Beer. We were also very disappointed with their staffs slow service.

Price Range: 300-500 a person

Slappy Cakes, Eastwood Mall

SONY DSCSlappy Cakes! I love coming here when I crave for pancakes. Nothing special, Personally I think that its overpriced just for some pancakes. Their pancake batter costs Php 225 and on top of that you still have to pay for every extra toppings and fruits that you add. Its just the thought of making them together with a friend that makes this place enjoyable to come to. Today though we decided to try their breakfast food as well. Not so bad actually since they have big servings. We tried the Topsy Tapa (Php 250) and the Pops Pot roast (390).

Pops Pot Roast

Topsy Tapa

SONY DSCHere is one of the pancakes that we made. We got some Nutella, Peanut Butter and some mangoes as well. I’m pretty sure that making them at home would be cheaper, but its nice to come here once in a while to have some wacky shared moments with a good friend or two. With one bottle of pancake batter we were able to make only about 6 shapes. For what its worth its not all that bad but it isn’t cheap either because I’m pretty sure that with the amount we paid we could probably have made a lot more pancakes at home. Nonetheless, Its a good place to bring kids or your friends. They have free wifi and a very friendly staff too.
