Since its been kind of 涼しい (Suzushii) meaning that it has been getting cooler lately here in Manila. I decided that we should have some Ramen for dinner. The first time I tried Ryu was about a year ago when UP town center opened. I began coming back here again and again for their Curry gyoza set. I love their Japanese curry set here and I love it that they mix it with gyoza and rice.
I actually thought that this place was owned by a Japanese apparently its owned by Ogie Alcasid and his friends. (I found a short overview of the place if you click this link) The place had a good Japanese theme and my mom even complimented the cook on their gyoza. She said that she knew that they made their own gyoza wrapper because it is different from the regular gyoza wrappers that you could buy in groceries. She was right of course, the lady was surprised to find out that my mom knew that it was made there in their kitchen. That’s my Super mama!

Gyoza php 130 each, the gyoza wrappers here are homemade. Very soft gyoza wrappers and lots of pork and vegetable filling.

Tantamen, Php 310. You have an option for Mild or Super spicy. In my opinion however the spicy was not really so spicy. I really liked the flavor on the super spicy one.
I don’t think that this place gets enough of the attention it deserves. It really reminds me of good Japanese meals. I mean, not the best but, for the price you pay yes it is pretty good Japanese food. I encourage that you try their curry and tongkatsu sets. It tastes just like the curry we eat at home whenever my mom would make curry.
Also they serve Kirin and Asahi beer here. My parents enjoyed some as I was their driver for tonight.
